Big White Village Situated just 22 km (12 miles) northeast of Vernon, BC, in the breathtaking Okanagan Valley, Silver Star is certain to leave a lasting impression. The quaint pedestrian-only village offers a burst of color set against the champagne powder backdrop, offering visitors trendy boutiques and comforting dining options in which to enjoy. Apres ski entertainment ranges from family-friendly movies shown on the big screen of the NATC to the more lively experience of The Saloon, promising themed evenings and good times.

On the slopes, visitors are certain to be impressed by the awesome display of vertical descent. 12 lifts deliver an impressive 14,000 skiers and riders to the 115 immaculately groomed trails each hour, ensuring time is spent where it matters most. Whether novice or professional, visitors are certain to find the appropriate run to suit their needs; beginners will appreciate the wide open spaces that can be found in Vance Creek, while Putnam Creek offers challenging black diamond runs to maneuver down suitable for the more advanced. For those looking to freestyle, TELUS Park, a progressive terrain park, provides Silver Star visitors with the flexibility to learn at their own pace. Complete with an aerial training site, regular half pipe and all the table tops, rails and spines one can handle, TELUS Park is a must-do for any terrain park enthusiast.

Off the slopes, Adventure Park provides further mountain excitement, appropriate for all ages and skill. From the fast-paced fun of Tube Town to the romantic hand-in-hand skating that Brewer’s Pond offers, Silver Star proudly captures the true essence of the classic ski resort.

What's New For 2011/12

New for the 2011/12 season, Silver Star is proud to introduce several key elements, each certain to provide a more enjoyable visit to the resort. Visitors can expect to experience the benefits of the following:

New Heli-Skiing - Silver Star Mountain Resort and Eagle Pass Heli-‐Skiing have joined forces to open up the Gold Range in the Monashee Mountains for guests of the resort. A Bell 212 helicopter will take 10 skiers and two guides to untracked powder. Pick up some tips by taking a few powder lessons from our world class Snowsport School before heading up into the air for the thrill of a lifetime. The helicopter will be based out of the village, which will make this a tempting activity to all our mountain visitors.

BC Winter Games - BC Winter Games -Bringing together young developing athletes from every region of the province, the BC Winter Games is the largest multi-sport Games in the BC and Canada. Take part or watch in awe this February as athletes compete in hockey, curling, biathlon and, alpine and freestyle skiing. Events take place in Silver Star and Vernon February 23 through 25, 2012.

Christmas Comes To Silver Star - Last year the 12 days of Christmas Celebration at the Snowbird Lodge was a huge success so we’ve brought it back with some additions! Starting December 14 it runs right up to Christmas Day with decoration making, movies, and a visit from Santa! Perfect for families, and those simply young at heart. Enjoy fireworks and a torchlight parade before you settle down by the fireside, with no other than Santa Claus himself. Drink hot chocolate and snack on cookies as Santa gives you a little present. A great start to the Christmas celebrations!

Wine & Dine - Imagine a day skiing champagne powder, followed by a glass of bubbly. Silver Star’s Wine and Dine will return for a second year of delectable wines and tasty treats. The weekend of wine tasting, incredible food, seminars and activities will take place March 9 through 11, 2012.

Après Antics - Silver Star is ripping it up ‘old school’ style this season by offering some of the all-‐time best ski movies at the Saloon. You can also join us for a game of Mountain Bingo, a bit of a twist on the traditional format. Bring all the family every Thursday for ‘Minute to Win it’, where challengers will complete in simple games and challenges in exchange for great prizes! To finish the season off they will be celebrating with a retro themed weekend of fun. Drinks specials and prizes will be abundant throughout the season!

Ensuring visitors of all ages enjoy their time at Silver Star, the resort is proud to offer an extensive list of activities to participate in.

	Aerial Training Site
	For the truly daring, Silver Star built this aerial training site to give professionals the big air that they are after.

	Cross-Country Skiing
	Having had national teams from United States, Norway and Finland train on Silver Star’s premier cross-country trails, visitors are certain to be impressed with the Nordic skiing to be experienced here.

	Dinner Tours
	From a 12 passenger snow-cat to a guided snowshoe tour, the options seem limitless. After making their way to an enchanting cabin-setting, visitors feast on a delicious offering of food and wine. Return transportation to the village by horse-drawn sleigh is typical.

	Dual Moguls Race Course
	The site of the 2004 Jr. National Freestyle Championship, the dual moguls race course offers thrill-seekers 275 m (902 ft) of excitement. Complete with wireless timing, this FIS-certified course ensures fast-paced adventure for those who accept the challenge.

	Horse-drawn Sleigh Ride
	To complete the magical feel that Silver Star is known for, guests board a horse-drawn sleigh and tour through the frosty landscape and deep powder surrounding the resort. Lasting anywhere from 20 minutes to a full hour, this charming tour is available seven days a week.

	Mini Sleds
	Geared to children ages 7-12, these action-packed miniature snowmobiles give youngsters the chance to maneuver through a specially-designed motocross-type course.

	National Altitude Training Centre
	Home to a rock-climbing wall, a state-of-the-art fitness room, day spa, auditorium and waxing room, the NATC combines indoor activity and essential elements.

	Night Skiing
	A completely different take on what Silver Star has to offer during the day, night skiing is bound to leave skiers and riders breathless. From mid-December until mid-March, guests flock to the hills to enjoy some under-the-lights fun.

	Terrain Park
	Following the popularity of Big White, Silver Star has designed its very own progressive 16 acre terrain park. Allowing freestylers to advance at their own pace, TELUS Park is equipped with an amazing mix of boxes, rails and spines.

	Tube Town
	Aimed to please all age categories, Tube Town offers guests a fast-paced, fun-filled, giggly good time. For added enjoyment, Silver Star is pleased to offer a Tube Lift, ensuring visitors can spend more of their valuable time sliding down over and over again.
